The book on Buddha’s life released in Belgium

26 Aug. 2017, Leuven, Belgium – The book “Light of the Himalayas”, a research based novel on Buddha’s life and enlightenment of the Global Adviser of Lumbini-Kapilvastu Day Global Movement, Prof. Dr. Kavitaram Shrestha, has been launched successfully in the presence of ambassador of Bhutan to Benelux and EU, Ms Pema Choden, Senior Adviser DMD Global of European External Action Service, Ms Lut Fabert-Goossens, Prof.  Dr. Han Verschure of  Catholic University of Leuven, Honorary Consul of Nepal to Belgium, Roger De Groen and diplomats of Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Nepal today in Leuven, Belgium.

The program was held in the chairmanship of President of Lumbini-Kapilvastu Global Campaign, Belgium and Europe Adviser of Lumbini-Kapilvastu Day Global Movement, Damodar Prasad Acharya, in Cultural Centre of Leuven.

During the program, President Acharya highlighted about the essence of the book that has clarified the historical, traditional and unscientific beliefs on birth and enlightenment of Lord Gautam Buddha, and guide to the readers to believe on the base of science. And President briefed about the literature journey and charismatic career of the author Prof. Dr. Kavitaram Shrestha.

Guest of the event, acting ambassador of Nepal to Benelux and European Union, Sudheer Bhattarai , has said that Gautam Buddha and his birthplace Lumbini, Nepal, are the pride of Nepal , and he added  that he is very pleased to take part in the event which is aimed at promoting Nepal in international arena by Lumbini-Kapilvastu global Campaign, Belgium.

Another guest of the event, Prof. Dr. Han Verschure of Catholic University Leuven, has explained his contribution towards human settlement planning and development in the aftermath of the earthquake in Nepal.  The strong earthquakes struck Nepal two years ago in 25 April 2015.

The representative of Indonesian Embassy, Ms Tovanni Panjaitan, shared the message of the ambassador of Indonesia Yuri Octavian Thamrin that due to another commitment he could not attend the event. And Ms Panjaitan said the greatest Buddhist temple is in Borobudur in Indonesia and the birthplace of Buddha is in Nepal that makes the bilateral relationship more stronger between Indonesia and Nepal.

The special guest of the program, the ambassador of Bhutan to Benelux and EU, Pema Choden, has officially released the book “Light of the Himalayas” and said Lumbini is the greatest pilgrimage site for Buddhist community and peace loving people across the globe.
