Celebrating 16 Years of Global Peace and Non-Violence

On this special day, we celebrate the 16th anniversary of the Lumbini – Kapilvastu Day, a movement dedicated to spreading the timeless messages of peace, non-violence, and compassion inspired by the birthplace of Lord Buddha in Lumbini, Nepal.

This movement marks an important historical milestone: on 1st December 1896, German archaeologist Dr. Anton Führer, in collaboration with General Khadga Shamsher Rana of Palpa, discovered the Asoka Pillar at Lumbini, confirming the site as the birthplace of Buddha. Dr. Führer’s discovery brought global attention to Lumbini as a sacred space and a symbol of peace.

Why Celebrate Lumbini – Kapilvastu Day?

Buddha’s Birthplace: Lumbini and Kapilvastu in Nepal are recognized as global heritage sites of peace. These sacred locations are not just of historical significance but also serve as a beacon of hope for global harmony.

Non-Violence and Compassion: At the heart of our celebration is the message of ahimsa (non-violence) and karuna (compassion), which Buddha taught to unite humanity in kindness, understanding, and peace.

Sustainability: Lumbini – Kapilvastu Day also advocates for mindful living, promoting sustainable practices that live in harmony with nature—principles that Buddha’s teachings emphasize for a balanced world.

Celebrating Peace:

  • Reaffirming our collective dedication to building a peaceful world, guided by the wisdom of Buddha.
  • Learning from Buddha’s Teachings: Discover how Buddha’s timeless messages provide solutions to the challenges of the modern world.
  • Fostering Sustainability: Uniting efforts to promote a sustainable, compassionate, and harmonious future for all.

Together, let’s continue to make a difference. Your action matters in creating a world inspired by peace, non-violence, and love. Thank you for being part of this movement, and for celebrating Lumbini – Kapilvastu Day with us!
